April kicked off with an increased presence of GOL Linhas Aéreas at Aeroparque Jorge Newbery (AEP), following a record-breaking summer season of operations by the Brazilian airline in Argentina.
The strength of the Argentine peso (or currency lag, depending on the perspective) against the Brazilian real (R$) has driven up demand for travel to Brazil. This trend has been further fueled by the expiration of the PAÍS tax at the end of December, which slashed the cost of airline tickets in Argentine pesos by 35% when paid with credit cards.
According to data from the Cirium platform, GOL is currently the leading airline between Argentina and Brazil, accounting for 31% of available seat-kilometer capacity (ASK) in April 2025. During the first two months of the year, the airline transported 317,198 passengers, achieving a load factor of 86%, according to Argentina’s ANAC. This marks a 49% increase, positioning GOL as the third-largest international airline in Argentina.

More flights to Aeroparque Jorge Newbery
Starting this month, GOL is ramping up operations at Aeroparque, increasing from 36 to 76 weekly flights. The airline has capitalized on extended operating hours at the airport, conveniently located near downtown Buenos Aires, allowing it to schedule early-morning departures.
The updated flight schedule mirrors previous slots from Ezeiza, with early departures landing in Brazil in the morning. This enables access to early bank connections and provides added convenience for business travelers.
From the second quarter of 2024, GOL will transfer all flights to Recife, Salvador, Natal, and Belo Horizonte from Ezeiza to Aeroparque. In the same period, the airline will expand services to Florianópolis, Salvador, and São Paulo, and move 60% of its Rio de Janeiro flights to Aeroparque.
