In a new update to the reservation system, it has been observed that Aerolíneas Argentinas will deploy the Airbus A330-200 on flights to Rio de Janeiro/Galeao (GIG). The service with the largest aircraft in its fleet will be maintained during the summer season due to the surge of Argentine tourists in Brazil.
The increase in demand is attributed to a more favorable Argentine peso against the Brazilian real and the devaluation of the latter against the dollar.
Consequently, the state airline has been adjusting its operations to Brazil to capitalize on the tourist boom. During the week, it was announced that Salvador da Bahía (SSA) will increase from 6 to 11 weekly flights from Buenos Aires, complemented by the weekly flight from Córdoba (COR).
According to the airline’s website and the Cirium platform, Aerolíneas Argentinas will also use the Airbus A330 for Rio de Janeiro, adding another 9,000 seats per direction.
Flight schedule with Aerolíneas Argentinas A330
There will be a total of 34 flights with the A330, configured with 269 seats, on various dates between December 28 and March 1, operated from Ezeiza International Airport (EZE).
- December: 28 and 29.
- January: 4, 5, 9, 11, 12, 16, 18, 19 (x2), 23, 25, 26 (x2), and 30.

The operations are complemented by services departing from Aeroparque on Boeing 737 MAX 8 aircraft, configured for 170 passengers, with 35 flights per week during January and 30 in February and March.
Aerolíneas Argentinas will have to compete with GOL, JetSMART, and Flybondi, which have increased their frequencies to up to three daily flights, as well as British Airways and Emirates, operating with A350-1000 and Boeing 777-300 (ER), respectively.
