As part of the Tianguis Turístico de México 2022, Viva Aerobus announced its third route to the Colombian capital: a non-stop service between Guadalajara (GDL) and Bogotá (BOG) starting on October 29, 2022.
Flight Itinerary
- Guadalajara (GDL) 18:00 – Bogota (BOG) 00:10 Wednesday and Saturday.
- Bogota (BOG) 01:10 – Guadalajara (GDL) 05:30 Thursday and Sunday.
Flights will be operated in Airbus A320 and A321 aircraft with a capacity of 186 and 240 seats respectively. Promotional fares start at USD 89.

With this new service, Miguel Hidalgo y Costilla International Airport (GDL) will be connected to South America, increasing the international offer in Guadalajara (GDL), which is the third airport in Mexico with the highest international passenger traffic and the main airport of Grupo Aeroportuario Pacífico (GAP).
According to data compiled by Aviacionline through the Federal Civil Aviation Agency (AFAC), during the first quarter of 2022 433,085 passengers were mobilized between Mexico and Colombia, an increase of 337.4% compared to the same period last year, and 3,250 air operations were registered, up 260.7% when compared to the same period in 2021.
In 2021, Viva Aerobus landed for the first time in Bogota (BOG), being the company’s first destination in South America, during the first three months of 2022, the low-cost airline had an 8.3% share of the Colombia and Mexico passenger market.
The Colombian capital represents approximately 74% of operations to the Aztec country. The Monterrey-based low-cost carrier will be the airline with the largest number of destinations from Mexico to Bogota (BOG).
Viva Aerobus schedule in Colombia
According to data obtained by Aviacionline through Cirium, Viva Aerobus will have an offer of 11,532 seats per week in 62 air operations during the summer season, the schedule is as follows:
Mexico City (MEX)
- Bogota (BOG) two daily flights on Airbus A320.
- Medellin (MDE) daily flights on Airbus A320.
Cancun (CUN)
- Bogota (BOG) daily flights on Airbus A320.
- Medellín (MDE) three times a week on Airbus A320 neo.
Guadalajara (GDL) from October 29th.
- Bogota (BOG) twice weekly on Airbus A320 and A321.
