Between May 30 and June 1, Seville Airport (SVQ) will increase its flight schedule due to the Europa League final between Sevilla Fútbol Club and AS Roma in Budapest.
The airport terminal will receive around thirty charter services that will transport local club fans to the Hungarian capital to attend the match, which will kick off at 9:00 PM local time on Wednesday, May 31.

Strengthening operations at Seville Airport for the Europa League Final
According to a press release from Aena, the Spanish public company that manages the airport, the facilities remained open last night and will remain open during tonight’s overnight period after the match concludes. Additionally, services will be reinforced to streamline operations and facilitate passenger transit.
Seville Airport handles around 150 commercial air operations daily, so an increase of this magnitude in such a short period of time poses a challenge.
In this regard, Aena explained that «in order to integrate the operation of these charter flights with the airport’s regular schedule and promote smooth transit, a customized plan has been designed to meet the specific needs of this type of event». Travelers are also advised to arrive at the airport as early as possible.

The opening of the airport terminal during the night will contribute to the gradual management of aircraft movements and reduce the risk of contingencies.
Furthermore, Aena stated that customer service personnel on the ground and those dedicated to tasks on the airport ramp will be reinforced. Also, additional security personnel will be deployed at the access controls to the boarding area.
Other facilities, such as food outlets and commercial stores, will extend their opening hours to accommodate the additional schedule, while parking spaces will be optimized to facilitate the transit of private vehicles.
