Air Transat opens connection between Toronto and Medellín with a stop in Cartagena.
Canadian airline Air Transat announced the launch of a new route between Toronto and Medellín, with an intermediate stop in Cartagena. This connection, which will operate twice a week, aims to strengthen the airline’s presence in South America and improve access to two of Colombia’s main destinations.
The initiative is part of Air Transat’s growth strategy in markets considered to have high potential, such as Colombia.
“The addition of Medellín to our network aligns with our goal of expanding operations and meeting a specific demand from our customers, both for leisure travel and family visits,” said Sebastián Ponce, Chief Revenue Officer at Transat.
In addition to adding Medellín to its network, the new route will allow for an extra frequency on the Toronto–Cartagena service. This model, which includes strategic stopovers, helps optimize fleet usage while improving connectivity with cities that still lack direct flights from Canada.
